Established in 1982
Hearthstone Animal Clinic has been a cornerstone of the Houston community for over 40 years. Founded by Dr. Sterling Hall, the clinic quickly became a go-to destination for compassionate, high-quality care in a friendly and modern environment.
In 2007, the torch was passed to Dr. Steve Pelton, who continues to uphold and build upon the clinic’s legacy of excellence. Under his leadership, the clinic has undergone significant updates, from modernizing equipment to expanding services, ensuring that every pet receives the best in veterinary medicine. From preventative care to advanced diagnostics, surgical procedures, and dental care, our goal is to keep your pet healthy while minimizing the lifetime cost of care.

Meet Dr. Pelton
Dr. Steve Pelton has been passionate about caring for animals since childhood. He attended Texas A&M University, earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Science and Veterinary Science, both with distinction. In 2000, he graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
As a General Practitioner, Dr. Pelton has particular interests in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology. He is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and is committed to providing the highest standard of care to every patient.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Pelton enjoys spending time with his family—his wife Amanda and their two daughters, Kylie and Kynlee. At home, they share their lives with two dogs (Allie and Abby), five cats (Crypto, Maisie, Toshi, Pip, and Ivy-Bean), and a leopard gecko named Pickles.
When he’s not busy caring for animals, you can find Dr. Pelton working out, deepening his knowledge of Bitcoin and the financial system, or enjoying the outdoors at the family’s cabin in Montgomery, Texas.
